The first thing a world needs is silence

Before a world has a character, it has a condition. Light behaves a certain way. A room keeps a particular distance from the person inside it. The silence is not empty. It tells us what the work has decided to withhold.

For The Quiet Engine, we started with the room. Not a set, exactly. A place that could make someone feel small without becoming theatrical. The answer was scale, then restraint: concrete, a narrow aperture of cold light, and enough darkness to leave the rest unanswered.

The work is still growing. The room remains.
